Day by Day Activities.

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Departing from Kigali, your journey will weave through significant historical sites along the route. Explore landmarks like Kamegeri Rock, the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza, and the Ethnographic Museum in Huye, immersing yourself in the rich cultural tapestry of the region. After a morning of discovery, savor a leisurely lunch before continuing the drive to Gisakura. Your overnight stay awaits at a carefully chosen hotel, lodge, or guesthouse in Gisakura, ensuring a comfortable and memorable experience amidst the picturesque surroundings.

Day 2. Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk

Following an early breakfast at 4:45 am, we’ll embark on a journey to the Chimp trekking point. After an exhilarating trek, prepare for an awe-inspiring experience on the canopy walkway. Suspended 50 meters above the ground and stretching 200 meters long, this dizzying platform traverses a steep, deep valley amidst the vast forest. Offering panoramic views, the hanging platform in Nyungwe Forest National Park spans hundreds of square meters, allowing visitors to observe various primate and bird species at eye level, as they inhabit the upper reaches of the forest canopy.

Day 3. Tea Factory Tour and Lake Kivu

During this 2-hour tour of the tea factory, you will gain a deep understanding of how tea is produced. Afterward, you will head to Kibuye for a visit to Napoleon Island and a Kivu boating experience, or drive to Huye and depart back to Kigali.

At the end of the tour, you will drive back to Kigali, then the airport, and finally, depart home.
